Aquarius Rising had its first sale on February 29th 1988 - 32 years ago. It was the first New Age retail venture in the Parramatta district and raised considerable interest among the then rather conservative ‘Westies’. The shop has been in several locations in Parramatta but is now back near its original location in George Street, diagonally across from the old Roxy Theatre.
The current shop is more compact than all previous shops. Shelves are filled with a variety of old favourites - new release books, regular titles, tarot, oracle cards, runes, CDs - music for meditation, relaxation and special topics of interest. Some second hand books are mixed in with new books but most second hand books are shelved in the small adjoining room.
As in all previous shops, there is a very comprehensive range of crystals, mineral specimens, crystal / gemstone - silver jewellery as well as sacred symbols in silver and pewter.
Of course there is a great range of incenses, essential and fragrance oils, perfumes, candles, chimes & greeting cards, dream catchers, Tibetan singing bowls, prayer banners, angel statues, leather covered journals, Moon Planting Guide, Sun Seal stickers --- and more.
